It’s not every day that you’re treated to the opportunity of photographing a beautiful woman just a few days before she’s due to give birth . . . and it’s a lot less likely that she’s your daughter-in-law. Fortunately for me, this happened last month. Despite the fact that she’s undeniably camera-shy, our daughter-in-law Liz was sufficiently persuaded – by a host of friends and family who insisted on preggie pics of her – to have a recent photo shoot in our studio, shortly before our grandson Cannen was born.
Her lovely mom Heather came along too, adding to the warmth and fun of the whole experience. She helped to suggest poses and positions for the selection of tiny shoes and toys that Liz had brought with her. Together with a variety of outfits and backdrops, these contributed to a fabulous portfolio, capturing precious memories from this special time, to be treasured forever.
Of course, now that Cannen is with us in the world, we look forward to a follow-up photo shoot of him with his parents. What better way to celebrate his young life than by sharing beautiful images along the journey, especially now that sharing them is so easy online? Facebook really comes into its own with the arrival of a new baby, whom friends and family around the world can’t wait to see. And why not take the opportunity to share professional portraiture, which does justice to the magic of the moment? As far as we’re concerned, it’s a priority, and not only in the case of our own gorgeous grandchild 🙂
