Rolling Hills Farmstead and OV&P Team

Filming Rolling Hills Farmstead

Sometimes, all you need is space to breathe. That’s the feeling we aimed to capture in the marketing video we created for Rolling Hills Farmstead, a tranquil retreat near the historic village of Tesselaarsdal, where the rhythm of the Overberg slows down and life feels distinctly calmer. Just 90 minutes from Cape Town and close to the beauty of Hermanus and the Hemel en Aarde Valley, this farmstead feels like a world apart — a place to unwind and reconnect with what really matters.

Two Distinct Chalets, Eco-Friendly Comfort

Rolling Hills offers two eco-friendly self-catering chalets, each with its own unique charm. Moo Meadow, inspired by the farm’s gentle Jersey cow Tessa, is a spacious two-bedroom getaway perfect for families or friends, combining rustic charm with modern comforts.

Cosy Coup, a one-bedroom, double-story chalet with a loft bedroom and balcony overlooking the valley, offers an intimate escape for couples or small families. Both chalets feature natural wood interiors, wood-burning fireplaces, private braai areas, and Kol Kol hot tubs on the decks. Off-grid and solar-powered, they strike the perfect balance between eco-conscious living and modern convenience.

A Farm That Welcomes Everyone

Rolling Hills Farmstead invites every member of the family — pets included — to enjoy its serene surroundings. Guests can stock up at the nearby farm shop, which offers snacks, wood, ice, cool drinks, a selection of premium meat, and occasional farm fresh eggs.

Find Your Pause at Rolling Hills Farmstead

Our video captures the scenic beauty from ground-based and aerial perspectives, conveying a feeling of home, comfort, and lingering peace. It reflects the relaxing pace, natural beauty, and heartfelt hospitality of Rolling Hills Farmstead, encouraging viewers to step away from the everyday, recharge, and immerse themselves in the calm of the Overberg.

Marketing Content for Guest Accommodation

It was a treat for our team to film on location here, and a delight to work with the Rolling Hills Farmstead team, as you can see in the top pic of them all together at the end of the day! Call us if you need professional videography and photography to showcase Airbnb or other guest accommodation in the Western Cape. We’ll be happy to discuss ideas and options with you.

Maracor Shop in Malmesbury

Maracor Building Material Video

Here at Outdoor Video & Photographic, we love working with local businesses that truly matter to their communities and contribute significantly to their clients’ lives. Filming the marketing video for Maracor Building Material was exactly that kind of project.

A Swartland Business Built on Trust and Community

For more than 25 years, Maracor has been a trusted name in construction supply across the Swartland, built on family values, integrity, and a genuine commitment to helping people build their futures, brick by brick.

Bringing the Maracor Story to Life on Screen

Our objective was to capture the essence of Maracor. Using a blend of ground-based and aerial drone footage, we showcased their Malmesbury and Riebeek West stores, the nearby warehouse, and the deliveries that keep building projects moving across the region. From busy yards and fully stocked shelves to trucks coming and going, every shot was chosen to reflect reliability, scale and service.

From Foundations to Finishes

The video features the wide range of building materials that Maracor offers — from cement, reinforcing and roof trusses to plumbing supplies, doors, windows, finishes and more. Through compelling scripting, careful planning, inspired editing and clear visual storytelling, we focused on keeping the message easy to follow while highlighting the scope of their products and services.

A Video That Reflects a Trusted Partner

An effective marketing tool, the video is a reflection of Maracor’s role in the Swartland building community. Designed for use online, in-store and on social media, it reinforces their reputation as a supplier you can rely on, from the first brick to the final finish.

It was a privilege and pleasure to partner with Maracor Building Material on this project. If you’re a local business looking to tell your story through professional video production, drone footage or photography, get in touch with us. We’d love to help bring it to life.

Vibrant Nooitgedacht Village

On entering Nooitgedacht Village in the enchanting Cape Winelands, you’re greeted with the inspiring reminder on the wall to ‘Live Life Beautifully’. We’ve been privileged to live here for the past two years, and to capture the progress of construction from start to finish of The Vineyards apartment block and The Foundry mixed use building, currently being completed by Remey Construction.

View our rapid time lapse video below, to witness the impressive construction process of The Vineyards, from April 2024 to May 2025, condensed into just 82 impactful seconds! The building provides modern, world class accommodation from 1-bedroom to 3-bedroom units, which were swiftly snapped up in our sought-after Village. Alongside it is The Foundry, featuring the welcoming Wonders of the World preschool, Willow Way Fitness gym, The Missing Sock laundry (love that name 😄) and more potential amenities to come soon, including a much anticipated new restaurant, resident family doctor, co-working space and Air BnB facilities, amongst other things.

The above video exclusively covers the time lapse process, which was captured from Dave’s rig, mounted on a high pole that was set up for this purpose, but he also filmed and photographed monthly progress using ground based and aerial drone cameras. Below is a sample progress video from September 2024, where you can see the compelling effect of that combination, from 15 seconds in:

This approach provided comprehensive ongoing content for the investors and stakeholders in the project to enjoy and monitor throughout the build. We made plenty of new friends and associates in the process, and it was a pleasure to work with them all, with a special shoutout and thanks to Bertus Swanepoel and the entire Remey team, for making it a fun, fulfilling and enjoyable journey!

You can see Dave in the top pic above, explaining the intricacies of his time lapse rig to two great guys, who helped him bring it down after construction was completed on The Vineyards. It’s exciting to see the development happening here, with multiple phases to follow, and we’re grateful to be part of this wonderful community, living life beautifully.
