It is with deep sadness that we share the recent passing of Dave Estment, my beloved husband and inimitable co-founder of our company, Outdoor Video & Photographic.
This follows a debilitating battle with physical and mental health challenges that escalated since his cochlear implant some years ago, leading to critical infection that later required its removal, inexplicable cognitive issues and an arsenal of medications that all contributed to the desperation of his condition.
Those who remember Dave’s utter fearlessness and amazing zest for life, may understand how unbearable it became for him to live with his abilities so severely compromised. He took his life, for the sake of his dignity and I believe to spare us pain.
Below is a personal tribute to Dave, if you’d like to experience his spirit and hear his voice in this short video drawn from footage he edited from a few of our countless adventures. It’s a reflection of where our business began, through our shared love for our wild, natural world, Dave’s passion for motorcycle racing, and our mutual dedication to having fun at work.
