It gives us great pleasure to share our much-anticipated 2014 Safari Guide of the Year video with you, as promised in our previous post about this phenomenal initiative. Credit and gratitude goes to Africa Direct Tour and Travel Operators and The Field Guides Association of Southern Africa for bringing the competition into being, for the benefit of everyone involved, the guiding industry as a whole and the broader tourism industry in South Africa. Another phenomenal Safari Guide of the Year competition wrapped recently at Nkambeni Safari Camp in the Kruger National Park. What a week! We were again privileged to capture the considerable action via photography and videography, witnessing the tremendous camaraderie and tight competition that characterized it all. Above is a photo of the 7 intrepid finalists, together with some of the esteemed judges, including Mike Karantonis from Africa Direct and Grant Hine from the Field Guides Association of Southern Africa, the two key organizations behind this initiative.
