Happy Thanksgiving to our friends in the USA and, in the spirit of gratitude, heartfelt thanks to every one of our valued clients and associates, also for our 45 fantastic Google reviews! 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 It’s thanks to you that we’ve been in business for over 21 years.

We’re so grateful also to have set up our studio recently at Devonbosch near Stellenbosch (as per our last post) and listed OV&P on Google for the first time, because we had our studio at home in Johannesburg and wanted to retain our privacy there. It’s wonderful to freely share our address now and we welcome visitors here! Please just check before popping in that we’re not out on a shoot 😄

In the pic above, Dave was photographing super rugged, very colourful wheelbarrows for a client at Devonbosch a few days ago, which was so much fun and provided a range of great setups to depict commercial, industrial, domestic and farm oriented scenarios. It also led to lots of interest and a business enquiry from local cyclists, who frequent the development for early morning coffee.

Welcome to our New Studio

How has the first half of 2022 treated you? We hope it’s been meaningful, happy and successful. Here at Outdoor Video & Photographic, epic change has been underway, as we’ve moved our home and business from Johannesburg to Devon Valley near Stellenbosch. Having lived for 25 years in the same house, which included our home-based studio, we completely underestimated the upheaval associated with moving cities. It’s been a challenging time, but also filled with adventure.

We’re now living on a beautiful olive farm and are delighted to say that our brand new studio, just down the hill from the farm, is open and ready to make magic with you in the Devonbosch development on Bottelary Road. One of the first shoots we’ve done here was to capture the launch of Goodness Grows, the village store at Devonbosch. Take a look at our short video that shares the flavour of the event, with a captivating backing track by the talented musician Forest, who played live at the launch:

We’ve also photographed our first clients at Studio 01C, Devonbosch, where we’d love to welcome you too! At the top of this post and below are two pics of our studio, which offers plenty of creative options for personal, product and promotional photo and video shoots. We can also combine this with location and aerial photography and filming as you can see in the video above.

Year in Review

Wow, it’s been a weird year, and how quickly it’s come and gone! Given our collective global challenges, we are especially grateful to all of our wonderful clients, associates, suppliers, family and friends for your support. THANK YOU!

It’s been so fulfilling to have inspiring work to co-create, including online education content, individual and business promotional videos, aerial and time lapse photos and videos (we were capturing an extensive solar installation on a warehouse roof in the pic above), personal branding and modelling portfolios, and even coverage of some special live events.

Another highlight has been teaching photography and videography online and in person. Dave has also been innovating in our studio, in between us hiring it out, combining creativity and tech to showcase products, as you can see here:

We’ve also had amazing trips with our cameras in hand, from the magnificent flowers in Namaqualand to the breath-taking bushveld at Welgevonden game reserve, where Dave went with his brother Mike, and shot this short video:

Be sure to watch if you love nature and wildlife, and don’t miss the exceptional footage of a Lilac Breasted Roller flitting in and out of its nest in a tree, or the majesty of lions, elephants and other game that never fails to stir the soul.
